Job Title: Highways and Transport Liaison Officer
Salary: £30,492 - £36,788
Full-Time: 35 hours
Location: Worcestershire
Permanent

The Role

Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity to work in a driven, dynamic and supportive team which provides you with a flexible and varied role and offers great benefits?

We are looking for organised, outgoing and friendly candidates to join our Highways and Transport Liaison team as County Liaison Officers.

Our County Liaison Officers act as ambassadors for the County Council and they are the main contacts for elected County Councillors (Members) when it comes to enquiries relating to highways and transport matters.

You will be responsible for an area where you will manage, coordinate and deliver Highways and Transport projects and work closely with members to ensure obstacles are overcome.

If you’re a confident communicator, then this could be just the role for you, as you will be the direct link between the County Council and the elected Members. You must be able to build strong, professional relationships with a variety of people from many different backgrounds and offer guidance and support to Members on major projects and operational issues.

Our County Liaison Officers also liaise with other external key stakeholders such as the emergency services, MPs, members of the public and you may be required to attend stakeholder forums.

The new candidates will be responsible for ensuring Worcestershire County Council's priorities and aspirations are at the heart of what they do and managed appropriately in accordance with policies and procedures

The post is varied, exciting and diverse, offering new challenges every day. It’s desirable that candidates have a good knowledge of Highways legislation, practices and procedures. However, if you don’t but have a number of the other qualities and the right attitude, we’d love to hear from you.

Successful candidates will be part of a friendly, supportive and welcoming team comprising seven County Liaison Officers who report to a Principal Liaison Officer.  Together, you will help to deliver and support key projects within Worcestershire.

If you have a real ‘can do’ attitude, enjoy travelling throughout our beautiful county and thrive on problem solving and communicating in a timely and clear way, then we’d love to hear from you.

Benefits

In return, you can look forward to:

• 25 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays
• 35-hour working week, with flexible working, including remote working opportunities
• Career Average Pension
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
• Excellent opportunities for career progression
