Job Details
UK charity Children’s Liver Disease Foundation takes action against the effects of childhood liver disease, providing information, emotional support, research funds and a voice for all affected.
- There are over 100 different types of liver disease affecting children
- Liver disease has no cure: It is a lifelong condition requiring a lifetime of care
- At least twenty children are diagnosed with a liver disease every week in the UK
- There are up to 100 liver transplants carried out on children every year in the UK
- There were at least 2,600 hospital admissions for paediatric liver disease during 2020 -2021 in the UK
Information empowers and research helps find answers and treatments. We’re looking for an exceptional candidate who has the vision to develop and deliver this role within our ambitious charity, thus contributing to making a difference to young people and their families.
The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to medical enquiries, managing the review and development of patient and parent resources, including literature and apps, whilst keeping CLDF informed of relevant research in the field and its subsequent dissemination to supporters. The role will be responsible for managing our research hub which supports patients and families to improve the design of research applications made by external groups. The Information and Research Hub Manager will take responsibility for CLDF’s health information campaigns and will elicit the views of our families and young people on a wide range of policy related issues to help inform our voice work. Educated to degree standard with experience of delivering health information to the public through a variety of mediums, including using digital technologies, you will need to demonstrate that you have a thorough knowledge of the workings and structures within the NHS. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to work in a team, be capable of working independently with initiative and achieve targets and support the charity to achieve its overall mission.
