KS5 Academic Coach for Science/Social Sciences - George Salter Academy

We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic coach who is ambitious and has an excellent work ethic, to work with our post 16 science students. Purpose of job: 
To work under the guidance of the Head of Sixth form and Heads of Department to assist in addressing the needs of the students who need support to overcome barriers to learning, in order to achieve their potential. 

Core responsibilities: 
•    To deliver small group interventions with students that have been identified for support, in order to achieve their potential. 
•    To develop and deliver 1:1 mentoring sessions for specified students, tailored to their individual needs. 
•    To develop resources for each group and 1:1 session. 
•    To help the students to develop strategies to overcome barriers to learning. 
•    To write action plans for individual students, to address the areas of concern for individual students. 
•    Keep records of activities and outcomes. 
•    To liaise with Head of Sixth form and Head of Science with regards to plans and progress made. 
•    To share records and resources with teachers, parents and any other agencies involved with the student. 
•    To provide in class support for individual students when necessary.
