Homeless Centre Support Officer
Birmingham City Council is seeking an enthusiastic people to join our busy Housing Support and Solutions Team to deliver our services.
If you are proactive, customer focussed, passionate about preventing homelessness and would like to do meaningful work than this might be just the job for you!
As a Homeless Centre Support Officer, you will deliver a responsive and customer focused temporary accommodation (TA) tenancy support service that enables residents to sustain their homeless centre tenancy and successfully move on into suitable secured accommodation.
The successful post holder will be required to work closely with customers with diverse needs, colleagues and supporting agencies.
Ideally, we are looking for people who:
Are passionate about preventing homelessness and changing peoples’ lives
Are solution focussed
Are flexible, i.e. able to work shifts and weekends (rota based system)
Have experience of working in a customer focused environment including front line customer service experience and working with vulnerable customers
Have strong communication skills and are IT literate
Have good planning and organising skills
Are accurate and attentive to detail
Are empathetic and able to deal with customers in a sensitive and appropriate manner in a demanding environment
