Salary: G4 £19,698 to £21,748 per annum (pro rata to hours worked)
Actual Salary approx £4,626 - £5,107 per annum

Hours per week: 8.69 (4hrs Saturday, 4hrs Sunday) and 4hrs every Bank holiday. Walsall Borough.

We are seeking a motivated individual who wishes to develop a career in Bereavement Services. The post holder will be expected to carry out core duties alongside proving cover in other areas of the service as required.

The core duties will include:

  • Opening and closing of cemeteries and book of remembrance room
  • Support the Bereavement officer on out of hours funerals
  • Security and support at the cemeteries and Register Office
  • Internal courier services

Cover duties may include:

  • Crematorium technician duties
  • Memorial safety inspections
  • Compliance inspections

The successful applicant must hold a full UK driving licence and will be required to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

The Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty covers this post for public sector workers.  The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
