Play therapy has a key role in helping children explore their emotions and behaviours through the medium of play. It can help them to work through traumatic experiences, process them and move on. The therapy can also help the professional network gain valuable insight into the child’s world and their experiences as well as their views, wishes and feelings.
Sandwell Children’s Trust are recruiting for a Play Therapist in our Youth Offending Service - 18.5 hours a week. We are looking for an exceptional candidate who is passionate, committed and dedicated to improving the lives of children & young people.
You will be a qualified Play Therapist, registered with Play Therapy UK. You will have knowledge of the needs of vulnerable and traumatised children and be able to support them via a therapeutic intervention.
You will have some knowledge and experience of Children’s services, Social Work and legal processes and be able to represent the views and advocate for needs of children in a variety of forums. Knowledge of Child Development and therapeutic services will also be required.
