Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages - Charlton School
TEACHER OF MODERN FOREIGN LANGUAGES - Charlton School
French/German/Spanish – a combination of two
Location: Charlton School
Contract type: Full time
Contract term: Permanent
Charlton is a successful, forward-thinking 11-16 comprehensive school, with 1,173 students currently on roll. Located in the town of Wellington, Shropshire, the School enjoys a semi-rural location, attracting students from neighbouring villages as well as from areas of Telford.
Wellington is a thriving market town, rapidly improving facilities and new housing being built nearby the school. From its central position, Wellington is easily reached by rail and has a large train station in the town. It is close to Shrewsbury and the famous Ironbridge, which is an area of local beauty and historical interest and one of the best in Shropshire.
To support us with our future development and our desire to rapidly be classified by Ofsted as a good school again, we converted to an academy within a select MAT. We will work in partnership towards a shared vision that places students’ learning, environments and local communities at the centre of our approach.
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a specialist teacher of German / French and/or Spanish to join our forward thinking MFL department. We are looking for an inspiring teacher who can enthuse students about languages and help them to understand the enjoyment and benefits that learning about other languages and cultures can bring.
You will work closely with the MFL team and Curriculum Leader to continue developing a new, broad, balanced and relevant curriculum which will allow students to feel they can succeed at languages and enjoy their learning journey along the way.
The MFL department at Charlton are creative, supportive and reflective practitioners with excellent team spirit. The sharing of best practice is key to this, as is hard work and ambition to achieve the very best results for our students.
If you have a passion for teaching, and languages, we would love to hear from you!
The position will start November 2021 (but this may be reviewed, should the right candidate not be able to start until January 2022). Our school is an equal opportunity employer, so we are committed to the safeguarding and protection of children and individuals. This post is subject to a DBS Enhanced Disclosure.
