We are looking to recruit a full time Independent Chair; the position is 37 hours per week and paid PO3 with 2 Market Forces increments, giving a total possible salary of £47,108 per annum. In addition to this the successful candidate will also receive an annual retention payment of £2,000 and a one-off welcome payment of £2,000 *.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced and supportive team in the Safeguarding & Quality Assurance Service lead by Daniel Gray, Group Manager/Principal Social Worker. The Team is operationally managed by Karen Green (Practice Manager Child Protection & LADO), the wider service includes Advanced Practitioners and Independent Reviewing Officers managed by two other Practice Managers. The team is well supported by our Business Support Team.

With a thorough knowledge of relevant legislation you will provide expert advice and guidance to Social Workers, Team Managers and partners who are dealing with highly complex situations - being responsible for independent chairing of Child Protection Conferences and Position of Trust Meetings. The team work on a rota basis to cover both functions.

You will be experienced and qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England, who has a solid knowledge of policy, legislation and good practice experience within child protection practice, and can demonstrate a strong commitment to strong multi-agency working and child focussed practice.  You will have extensive experience of chairing complex and challenging meetings, the ability to manage difficult conversations and have a good understanding of risk and safety planning.
