Prevention Department
The Role
A permanent opportunity has arisen in the Prevention Department.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering community safety initiatives at district level in support of the Service’s Corporate Strategy and to provide continuity between HQ, districts and the local community.
The role will have control over promoting safety awareness, especially amongst identified ‘at risk’ groups and improve partnership working at both existing and new partnerships to assist delivery of preventative services. In addition, the role will support with assisting the Service in promoting community well-being and provision of appropriate support to local communities to increase safety.
Please note, the successful candidate would be expected to engage in a flexible working approach, as the role entails some weekend and evening work as well as occasional early starts.
The Person
Experience and knowledge:
Experience of planning, organising, implementing and evaluating campaigns, displays and events.
Experience of networking and multi-agency working.
Experience of managing staff and problem solving.
An understanding of the effects of social exclusion.
Additional requirements:
A current full driving licence.
Awareness and understanding of issues relating to Community Safety work.
Knowledge of equality and diversity and how they impact on community safety work
The successful applicant will be subject to a DBS check.

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service is responsible for providing day-to-day fire and rescue services across the two counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
Our stations are staffed by a mix of 'wholetime' firefighters - operating on a full-time basis and providing an immediate response - and ‘on-call’ firefighters who work and live in their local communities and respond to emergency calls whenever they are needed.
