Salary: Grade 7  £23,451- £27,041 per annum

 37 Hours per week – Permanent

About the role

Working in a busy but rewarding small team where all placements are found for Looked After Children, both planned and crisis-led

What you’ll bring

• Passion and commitment to identifying well-matched placements for Staffordshire’s looked after children

• Review information contained in the Placement Referral form relating to children requiring placements to ensure the information is good and current. Where there are gaps additional information is requested and analysed.

• Identify suitable in-house resource as placement of first choice, where appropriate, ensuring that the foster carer has the skills and ability to meet the needs of the looked after child.

• Work independently undertaking Risk and Match exercises in relation to Looked After Young People requiring Placements.

• Identify clearly where there are potential shortfalls or concerns in the placement offered and identifying remedial action.

• Work in partnership with colleagues in residential to ensure that all placement requests are dealt with and the best possible, appropriate placements are identified.

• Liaise with children’s social workers, fostering social workers and team managers and foster carers to gather and disseminate up to date information to ensure a good and appropriate match.

• Liaise with Independent Fostering Agencies, Residential Providers and Support Accommodation providers to identify suitable placements for looked after children.
