The role:

Ridgeway Primary School is looking to appoint a well-motivated, positive and skilled classroom assistant to support a child in Year 3. The child has an EHCP and requires an increased level of 1-2-1 support. The candidate will ideally have experience in SEMH and supporting a child with challenging behaviour.

Salary £18,198 - £18,993 (Pro Rata).  Pay award pending.  A six-month  probationary period is in place as per school policy.

The position is 9am – 3.30pm – 25 hours per week (term time only)

This is a FIXED TERM contract to 20th July 2022 in the first instance – based on available funding. It is fully expected that funding will continue after this time.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold an NVQ L2/L3 Qualification or equivalent;
  • Have experience of working with children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties would be an advantage;
  • Have the highest expectations of pupils academically, behaviourally and socially;
  • Inspire and engage the pupil through their tasks.

Whilst work will be guided by the teacher, the candidate should demonstrate the ability to use their own initiative if required.
