Clerk to Trustees and Members
Required from January 2022, Mercian Educational Trust Trustees and Members Boards wish to appoint a clerk to support Board Chairs and Trust Leaders discharge their strategic and statutory governance duties.
The post primarily involves communication with Chairs & Trust Leaders to ensure the effective organisation and running of Trust meetings / business. At meetings the Clerk records clear minutes of meetings, noting key discussions, decisions and required actions. A flexible approach to working hours is essential as the role involves some twilight/evening meetings which tend to cluster in certain weeks of term. However, salary will be paid in 12 equal payments
This post is temporary / fixed term for maternity leave cover. However, the successful candidate will be offered the opportunity to undertake the Chartered Governance Institute level 3 qualification in clerking, which will be funded by the Trust.
