About Us

‘Working as a school based social worker offers a varied, unique, and exciting role. The benefits of working directly in a setting with young people and their families creates opportunities for more direct work and earlier intervention and prevention.  Much of my work with colleagues from education supports to develop a shared and deeper understanding of behaviour and social inclusion, developing the school’s responses to this, as well as assisting key staff to develop their understanding and knowledge of resources and services that can offer the right support at the right time.  It’s unique position also allows a level of creativity and autonomy to shape the role to reflect the needs of the setting, local authority, and families. And whilst this role can also be challenging the availability of good reflective supervision and team support has supported my practice.’
