Head of Transformation and Change - Ref: RT10921

£74,368 - £80,824 per annum

This is an internal vacancy open to existing Walsall Council employees only.

Walsall Council has ambitions to reduce inequalities and maximise potential.  We want better outcomes for our residents, a better employee experience for our staff, and the prospect, over the medium term, of balancing our books in ever challenging economic environment.

To do that, we are on an exciting transformation journey to change our ways of thinking, and our ways of working.

Our transformation is moving at pace and we are pleased to be recruiting a Head of Service leading our Transformation and Change capability.  As Head of Transformation and Change you will be an enthusiastic and collaborative senior leader, able to work effectively with diverse services and teams to design and develop opportunities for change, with a focus on successful benefit delivery. Our customers are at the heart of what we do, supported by motivated and empowered employees who enable service efficiencies to be realised and released. These are our three Proud promises.

As a key member of the Resources and Transformation function, you will manage a professional team of programme and project managers, project support and business analysis officers, as well as driving forward the Council’s Change Centre of Excellence.  For us, change is constant.    Your function provides assurance and governance to support change, and the Programme Management Office provides reporting on progress, risk management and benefit realisation to demonstrate value.

You will play a pivotal role in the wider corporate management of the Council.   You will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and provide direction and support to the seven strategic work stream areas which are focusing on; Customer Access and Management, Corporate Hub, Enabling Support Services, Third Party Spend, Income Generation and Cost Recovery, Enabling Communications and Culture and Enabling Technology.
