Christ Church Primary School is a very popular, over-subscribed primary school in Coseley.

The Governors of Christ Church Primary School are looking for a new member of staff to join our site team. We are seeking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and flexible person who will help ensure our school is safe, secure and well maintained.

Hours: The post is permanent, 37 hours per week.

The working hours in term time are on a split shift basis and is usually from:  6.50am - 11.45am and then 3.00pm - 5.30pm (37 hours in total). This is flexible depending upon the needs of the school and may differ in the school holiday period. Occasions may arise, especially in severe weather, when an earlier start time may be needed.

Occasional evening and weekend lettings for which overtime will be paid, based on the hourly rate of the caretakers salary. The school has a commitment to working with the community.

The Caretaker contract will be an all year round contract with holidays taken out of term time, taking into consideration that either one or both the Caretaker or the Assistant Caretaker is available throughout the summer holiday period.

Salary Range is:  Grade 4, SCP 5-6.  To commence on SCP 5 (Salary:  £19,312 - £19,699)

The School Caretaker is responsible, through the Headteacher and Governing Body, for a wide range of duties and responsibilities connected with the fabric and grounds of the School.

Candidates should be competent in basic building repairs and maintenance, decoration and grounds maintenance and must take a pride in their work. They should have a working knowledge of health and safety and should be able to work individually and as part of a team. Good interpersonal skills are required with the ability to build positive relationships with the assistant caretaker, staff, pupils, parents and any contractors working on site

A requirement of this role is to be easily accessible to the school.  It is therefore recommended that the successful candidate lives within a five mile radius of the school.
