We are the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Information Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS). We provide free, impartial and confidential information advice and support on all SEND matters to children and young people with additional needs and their parents/carers.
The successful applicant will be developing a brand new role within SENDIASS delivering and developing training workshops on a variety of different SEND subjects to parent/carers, young people and professionals. You will be expected to create sessions and resources that meet local demand through establishing links with a range of stakeholders, as well as organising convenient training locations that meet stakeholders needs. This post will be working across Herefordshire & Worcestershire, so the ability to travel, often to remote locations, is essential. Supporting a small caseload of parent/carers will also initially be required.
A professional with proven experience of delivering workshops/ information sessions to a range of audiences and the ability to communicate to a range of stakeholders appropriately. Understanding of SEND, knowledge of SEN law and local SEND policies/practices would be advantageous, along with experience of working in a related field. The successful applicant will be required to gain or update qualifications as appropriate in order to fulfil the role. Training and support will be provided to the right candidate.
