Working Pattern

As the User Researcher, you will be integral to the success of the project and embedding of user-centred design culture within the organisation. You will seek to fully understand the users and non-users of our services, as well as their needs and will be the advocate for users to the rest of the organisation. This is a Fixed-Term contract until July 2022.

What will you be doing?

  • Planning, organising and executing user research activities, recording and presenting your findings back to the team and stakeholders
  • Recording and analysing results, feeding back in reports and presentations 
  • Collaborating with designers to create recommendations for iterations  
  • Working to understand the end-to-end context of services 
  • Engaging with the organisation’s user panel through online platforms 
  • Collaborating to embed user-centred design into the organisation 
  • Knowledge sharing through blogs for local and central government 

We’re interested in people who have: 

  • Experience of a range of user research methods 
  • Experience working with a digital product 
  • Experience using analytics, user feedback, user research and other sources of information 
  • The ability to turn research into clear findings to inform decisions 
  • A relevant degree or professional qualification in behavioural fields would be beneficial but not essential

Additional information

We are designing our organisation of the future and planning a new, flexible approach to the way we use our office space.  This approach will mean most of us working from home some of the time and using our office space to come together to share ideas and learn from each other. We will continue to use digital technology for meetings, collaboration and communications - bringing teams together virtually wherever they’re working, saving time and spending on travel.
