There is an opportunity for three experienced Contract Works Officers and one Electric Specific Contract Works Officer to join the Asset Management and Maintenance teams to assist in the Service Delivery of the Repair, Maintenance and Voids Works Contracts to the housing stock of Birmingham City Council. 

You will assist the Repairs, Maintenance and Voids Service Coordinator in the monitoring of budgets and the management of programme and maintenance works.

You will have excellent communication skills in response to complaints, investigations and enquiries, as you will be responsible for regularly assessing the ongoing requirements of housing tenants and customers. You will have responsibility to ensure the housing stock and all works undertaken are in accordance with Health & Safety and Building Regulations, Building Control and Safety Standards / Risk Assessments, and ensure Construction Design & Managements (CDMs) are achieved and Maintained.

The Contract Works Officer role requires knowledge of residential maintenance and a qualification to a minimum of ONC or BTEC Building.

The Gas specific Contract Works Officer is required to be Gas Qualified under the ACS (Accredited Certification Scheme) and will inspect Repairs and Installations on site to ensure Contractors carry out all works in accordance with Building Regulations, Building Control and Safety Standards/Risk Assessments, and ensure Construction Design & Managements (CDMs) are achieved and Maintained.
