PE Technician (Student Support Mentor)

Temporary/Casual - 25 hours per week (5 days per week)

Term time only

Salary - £9.81 per hour

This is an exciting time to join Castle Phoenix Trust, to feel valued as we progress on our journey of continued success.   We are seeking to appoint a Temporary casual PE technician (Student Support Mentor) to support the PE faculty and to also work alongside our Student Support Team, which is integral to the school’s vision to ensure young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

You will be approachable, enthusiastic, motivated, resilient and able to support our vulnerable students as well as our most able, encouraging them to become independent learners.  Ideally you will be talented in a particular sporting field.

This is a unique opportunity to combine providing effective and efficient support for the learning and teaching of PE whilst gaining an insight into the role of a Student Support Mentor.  You will be providing specialist support to students across all areas of sport and leisure, managing and organising equipment, kit and fixtures.  A key aspect of this role is also to be a lifeguard supporting the annual swimming timetable. As you develop your skills you will have the opportunity to work 1:1 with students as needed and to mentor a small group of students to help them achieve their termly targets.

Through the leader in our student support faculty and the PE Faculty Leader, we will provide comprehensive induction training so that you can shadow our other staff, get a really good understanding of our systems and policies and have the opportunity to ask questions and get to know our students during your induction programme.

Caludon Castle has a great deal to be proud of.  We are an oversubscribed, high performing school with excellent ICT-rich premises.  Our students are taught in purpose built sports facilities; our 6 lane swimming pool, floodlit all weather pitch, dance studio, 4 court sports hall and well equipped gym means our provision is second to none. Our specialism in Leadership and Castle Phoenix Trust profile, mean that we have exceptional facilities, motivated students and staff, and a host of exciting opportunities.   We offer a range of benefits, which includes cycle to work, access to the on-site gym and swimming pool, free parking, an employee discount scheme and a commitment to staff wellbeing and recognition initiatives through our wellbeing committee and people strategy.

If you are passionate about improving students’ life chances, as we are, please contact Emma Over, HR Director who would be delighted to talk to you about these opportunities, please email humanresources@castlephoenixtrust.org.uk if you would like to arrange a time to visit the school.

Application packs are available to download on the Trust website http://castlephoenixtrust.org.uk/job-opportunities/vacancies/ and www.wmjobs or from Emma Over via email: humanresources@castlephoenixtrust.org.uk

Completed forms are returnable to humanresources@castlephoenixtrust.org.uk
