Building on the success of our meeting centre for those living with dementia at Droitwich, and one for our armed forces veterans in Hereford, we have opened two more at Stourport and Kidderminster.  These provide a safe, social and stimulating non-clinical environment for people living with mild to moderate dementia and support their family members and carers. We are now looking for someone to manage, develop and expand this service.

Managing a team of paid staff along with volunteers, you will ensure that the team achieve high professional standards of person centred care for our members, that the activities on offer stimulate them and support individual interests. Also that members  receive help to adjust to living with dementia and are referred on for more specialist help where appropriate. You will also oversee reviews of members’ needs.

You will also make sure that the needs of family and carers are addressed and appropriate and support given, providing group or 121 meetings as appropriate and/or signposting to other services.

You will also engage with local communities, Health Professionals, and other organisations to raise & maintain the profile of the centres and provide a clear referral pathway.

You will have experience of working in dementia services and with older people and have a clear understanding of the issues and challenges faced by them and their carers.  Also good knowledge of the types of agencies and organisations which support older people and how they relate to each other.

You will have experience in managing teams, and will either have, or be willing to train for Worcester University Meeting Centre Support Programme training for staff and volunteers.

You have to be able to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people and agencies, maintain accurate records and data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, report writing and analysis to inform future operational decisions and the direction of support packages.

Closing Date 26/10/21,      Interviews 05/11/21
