Birches Head Academy has recently become part of the Frank Field Education Trust and we work collaboratively with others in our FFET family, allowing our students and staff many opportunities to develop. Birches Head Academy is looking to appoint an Administrative Assistant to join our dedicated staff, who will undertake a wide variety of administrative duties, under the guidance of the Office Manager, to ensure the smooth running of the school. You will also support on reception, where you will be the first point of contact for visitors to the school and those making contact by telephone.
This post is demanding, requires a high degree of confidentiality and flexibility, and will prove both interesting and rewarding to the successful candidate.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of working within a busy office environment, remaining calm under pressure.
Experience of working in a school environment with 11-16 aged students and knowledge of school-based systems (e.g. SIMS, ParentPay, ClassCharts etc.) would be an advantage, but is not essential, as training will be provided.
You should possess the ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues and parents / carers. You must be computer literate, organised and have at least five GCSEs, including Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent qualifications).
