Inclusion Service

Our Inclusion Service will provide support and challenge wherever it is needed to ensure that all children and young people in Solihull have access to inclusive and appropriate education so they can achieve positive outcomes - enabling them to lead successful adult lives.

This will be achieved through a fully integrated inclusion service for children, which will provide advice, guidance and support for children and their families where accessing appropriate education is challenging.

We will provide, challenge and support education settings to develop inclusive practice and confidently support children and young people with additional needs – taking early action to address emerging issues and meeting statutory duties for attendance, children missing education, exclusion and home education.

As Locality Lead Inclusion you will:

  • Support head teachers, staff and governors of schools and academies to deliver inclusive practice and meet statutory duties in relation to attendance and exclusions through sharing of good practice, network meetings and other development opportunities
  • Challenge and support education settings to make effective use of resources and funding, especially to ensure the needs of more vulnerable children and young people are met
  • Effectively manage a locality team to ensure that children and young people, their families and other professionals receive the support they need to achieve the best outcomes – ensuring matrix management arrangements are effective

You will be:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Hold a Teaching Qualification QTS OR Qualified Social Worker OR other relevant qualification in Social Care / Health or SEND.
  • Significant experience of working within an education setting or equivalent
  • Experience of effectively managing people

This is a hugely rewarding role which will challenge you and your ability to support staff, whilst shaping the future of Inclusion services in Solihull.

These roles are currently based in our collaborative open plan office space with options of working from home. The office base is currently Elmwood Place, but expected to be is based in Central Solihull in the future, within walking distance of our shops and local amenities.
