£20,092 - £22,183 per annum

plus essential car user allowance

 

37 hours per week

2 year fixed contract

We are seeking to recruit a committed and highly motivated individual to support the garage project team.

The successful candidate will be pivotal to the success of a large garage refurbishment programme, by ensuring that all garages within the project are vacated and are let/re-let within defined timescales to maximise the best efficiencies of the project. The role will involve a significant amount of tenant engagement.

You will be responsible for;

  • Managing garage tenancies in the Council’s computerised housing management system [Orchard/MRI], this will include activities such as issuing ‘notices to quit’ on any garages that are currently occupied, managing the decant of tenants within the agreed timescales and ensuring that the garages are empty of all items and vacated prior to the project start.
  • Managing the garage rent accounts and ensuring payments are collected and or refunds processed whilst garages are being worked on.
  • Re-letting of any garages where garage tenants have been moved out whilst the works are completed.
  • A high standard of customer service and answering specific and general enquiries regarding the Councils garage sites whilst under construction.
  • Handing over sites back to the housing garage lettings teams once works are completed.
  • Giving advice to members of the public, other departments and outside agencies who contact the council will be a crucial part of this role where we seek resolution of issues at first point of enquiry wherever possible.
  • Actively engaging with the other departments and stakeholders where necessary in order assist delivery of the project.

You will work closely with the Leasehold and Estates Manager and the councils approved contractor to ensure all stages of the project on each site is complete.

Good knowledge of housing services will benefit this role, as will good experience of dealing with and solving a wide range of customer enquiries.

A good knowledge of Orchard or other housing database systems is essential. We are looking for an individual with a can do approach who will be able to work on their own initiative as well as in a team, with the ability to communicate effectively with members of the Council, the general public, contractors and colleagues whilst working in a busy environment.

To apply for the position you must have previous experience of working within a property lettings environment and have proven knowledge of Microsoft office and other databases.
