Hours: 35 per week

About us
We have opportunities for two Records Supervisors within the Corporate Information Governance Team (CIGT). These roles are vital to the delivery of our Information Governance Strategy.
CIGT provides information governance and records management services to the Council.  This includes a secure and fully managed storage solution for the Council and Worcestershire Children First’s semi-current and inactive physical (mainly paper) records.

What you will be doing

Records Supervisor:
This role will be responsible for co-ordinating the day-to-day delivery of the physical records services provided by CIGT.  This includes some staff supervision, so experience of supervising small teams would be useful. Other regular duties include training staff, answering information and records management queries, and maintaining filing systems.

Records Supervisor (Disposal):
The primary focus of this role will be on CIGT’s records disposal programme. The successful candidate will work as part of a small team to implement the disposal of records that no longer need to be kept physically.  This will include liaising with record depositors on a day-to-day basis, and therefore you must be able to successfully communicate with staff at all levels across the authority. Other regular duties include working with the Disposal Schedule, disposing of records that no longer need to be retained, processing records identified for permanent preservation, and maintaining filing systems.

About you

The successful candidates will be proficient in using Information Technology, have self-motivation and initiative, display good team skills and confident in their ability to quickly learn new computer systems.

You will have an aptitude for multi-tasking, problem solving and exhibit accurate attention to detail. An ability to lift boxes, some of which may be heavy and at height, is essential. Manual handling training and equipment will be provided to assist with these tasks.

Both roles will be based at the County Hall campus in Worcester - with limited potential for working from home.

For an informal discussion about these posts, please contact Philip Bouchier, Information Manager, pbouchier@worcestershire.gov.uk or call 01905 843598.

Closing date: 31st October 2021

Interview Date: To be Confirmed.
