About us:
An opportunity has arisen for a Records Assistant to join the Corporate Information Governance Team (CIGT). This role is vital to the delivery of our Information Governance Strategy

CIGT provides information governance and records management services to the Council.  This includes a secure and fully managed storage solution for the Council and Worcestershire Children First’s semi-current and inactive paper and physical records.

What you will be doing:
The primary focus of this role will be the undertaking the preparation work for the disposal of physical records as part of the small team to implement CIGT’s records disposal programme. This workstream includes identifying boxes for review, sending out disposal notifications, lifting and moving boxes, and data inputting into relevant spreadsheets and our database.

This role will be based full time on-site at the County Hall campus in Worcester.

About you:
The successful candidates will be proficient in using Microsoft Office packages including Excel and confident in their ability to quickly learn new computer systems.

You will have an aptitude for multi-tasking, problem solving and able to focus on consistent and accurate delivery of repetitive tasks. Above all, you need to be flexible, have good team skills, be able to relate well to your colleagues and users, and have excellent customer service skills.

An ability to lift boxes, some of which may be heavy and at height, is essential. Manual handling training and equipment will be provided to assist with these tasks.
