Catering Manager - Sherbourne Fields School
(Grade 5: Actual Salary £15, 299)
Starting Immediately, 30 hours per week.
Monday to Friday 8.:00am – 3:00pm term time plus 2 days.
Sherbourne Fields is an outstanding all age special school for pupils with a broad spectrum of need including physical disabilities; medical conditions and learning needs. We currently have 221 pupils on role and meet the specific dietary requirements of approximately 130 pupils each day. We are proud of the food we deliver and aspire to provide pupils a range of healthy meals, using locally sourced, high quality ingredients.
Due to the continuing growth of our school, we are now seeking to recruit a Catering Manager to oversee the catering operation within our school. This will include line managing a Cook in Charge, 3 Catering Assistants and 6 Lunchtime Supervisors. You will be responsible for ensuring annual performance reviews take place to ensure staff feel valued members of the team.
With an enthusiasm for producing well presented healthy meals, you will be responsible for delivering an efficient lunchtime service whilst also maintaining high standards.
As well as successfully managing your team, your other duties will include ordering of provisions; budgeting; menu planning; food preparation and health and safety;
You will be given the opportunity to unleash your creative side, as you run regular promotions to mark key events in our calendar.
You will need an NVQ Level 2 in Food Production and Cooking (or equivalent e.g. City and Guilds), along with a Level 2 Food Safety qualification (or successful completion within your first 12 months).
