Horton Lodge School is seeking a hardworking and dedicated Ancillary Assistant to work alongside class teams in supporting our pupils during their swimming sessions in our school pool.

Horton Lodge School is a Local Authority Special School for children aged 2-11years with physical disabilities and associated learning difficulties. Our students have a range of complex learning needs including cognitive, physical, sensory, emotional and health related disabilities.

This specific role includes assisting pupils in matters of personal needs and their general health, encouraging pupils to interact and engage with the swim activities led by the teacher, prepare and maintain general equipment and support the class team in preparing the pool area for lessons.

The successful candidates will truly hold the pupils’ well-being at the centre of all they do, have good interpersonal skills, high standards and expectations and an understanding of the difficulties faced by young people with disabilities.

This is a part time temporary position for between 7.50 and 12.50 hours per week, over 3 to 5 mornings a week.

The successful candidates will undertake duties detailed in Ancillary Assistant Job Profile C1059 at Grade 2 term time only (SCP 2 – 3, £18,198 - £18,562 FTE).
