The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven and enthusiastic individual to join the HS2 Team at Staffordshire County Council.

The team oversees and delivers Staffordshire County Council’s response to the HS2 project, which will run for 70km from Drayton Bassett in Lichfield District, through to Madeley in Newcastle Borough. This includes technical design input and management of detailed planning consents, as well as monitoring delivery of parliamentary undertakings and assurances.

The successful applicant will provide support to the HS2 Project Team by responding directly to standard and bespoke enquiries and requests for service from a variety of sources, using a range of digital record management systems.

This will include arranging internal and external meetings, taking notes / minutes, maintaining records, preparing documents, collating and supplying datasets and undertaking site visits to gather information.

You will be working as part of an experienced and supportive team, playing a key role in delivering the County Council’s statutory role under HS2, maximising benefit and minimising impact throughout the construction of a high profile infrastructure project which will affect Staffordshire for years to come.

What You’ll Need

You will need to be motivated, organised and able to prioritise, with a good level of computer literacy and attention to detail. You’ll need to be empathetic, understanding the significant impact of the project on affected communities.

Good communication skills and experience liaising with a range of stakeholders and maintaining relationships will be an advantage.

This role requires the ability to travel across Staffordshire and occasionally outside of Staffordshire. Casual Car User allowance will apply to the role. The role is based at Staffordshire Place 1; however, some flexible working will be permitted as part of this role by agreement with your line manager.
