Worcester is a great place to work. We have a thriving city centre, a great wealth of history and a fantastic environment, making it somewhere to be proud of.

Everyone associated with Worcester City Council is proud of Worcester’s offer of a high quality of life, varied heritage, award winning parks and our contribution to the development of modern local government.

It is a fantastic place to work and you will find us to be an organisation that is challenging yet caring; with our leadership adventurous in its pursuit of excellence.

At Worcester City Council, we have a work-family culture and we are proud to support and value the combination of employees’ work and family lives.

We have a clear vision to achieve excellence in everything we do and to achieve excellence in everyone we employ, meaning we are looking for an excellent candidate to come and join our work family!

The role is crucial to delivering Stronger and Connected Communities; supporting a busy calendar of community activity, campaigns and events. The role provides co-ordination with partner organisations to raise awareness of Hate Crime, Domestic Abuse, ASB, Night Time Economy and supporting vulnerable people.

Where individuals or communities are suffering from Anti-social Behaviour , the post holder will problem solve and work with partners to find solutions.

A full time permanent position has arisen within the Community Engagement team for Worcester City Council. We are looking for someone who has either experience or transferable skills in supporting and enable community participation and partnership working with specific interest in Community Safety.

You will be responsible for collating and interpreting information from many sources; organising it in a way that fits in with the South Worcestershire Community Safety Partnership and Safer Worcester group.  You will administer the Safer Worcester Partnership and be responsible for delivering identified projects for the benefit of Worcester residents.  You will be required to respond to enquiries and work with partner organisations in order to support the needs of the community, especially in relation to community safety.

The successful candidate will arrange events, activities and campaigns promoting priorities identified by the safety partnerships.  You will support community groups in organising and promoting their activities.  You will evaluate these events and record outcomes in order for you to provide reports on your activities.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, hard working and able to work unsupervised and within a team. You will be able to link with partner organisations and communicate with members of the public. We would prefer candidates with knowledge/experience of our services, especially in regards to Community Safety and be able work with the community/schools.

You will be required to attend events and meetings outside normal office hours, on a time in lieu basis, to represent the Council and to promote services to residents.  As a result of this, the position requires you to have current full and valid UK driving license.

We would prefer someone with a current first aid certificate.

Closing date: 31st October 2021, interviews will be held on 9th November 2021.
