The day-to-day duties

To manage the designated Looking Forward 2 service ensuring it delivers responsive and effective services and achieves targets and outcomes within budgetary constraints; providing support to Children & Young People between 5-18 years who have experienced any form of Domestic Violence, Abuse, Loss & Separation or those that are a Looked After Child.

To work effectively with the service team members, partner agencies and stakeholders to ensure referrals into the service meet the funded service criteria, and that they are assessed then allocated for the most appropriate support.

To recruit and oversee the quality of the work both from contracted and sub contracted individuals ensuring there is sufficient sessional counsellors/therapists/specialist workers capacity to meet service requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required:

  • Good standard of general education or equivalent, including maths and English at grade C or above
  • A recognisable qualification in management/project management.
  • A recognisable qualification in assessing and working with CYP/Youth Work/Family
  • Experience of successfully managing contracted project/services and delivering KPIs.
  • Experience of working with children, young people and families.
  • Experience of working within emotional well-being and mental health support
  • Experience of managing/supervising staff and/or leading a team well.
  • Experience of managing a budget and having financial responsibility.
  • A strong working understanding of, and a commitment to upholding legislation and policy (Including child protection, equal opportunities, risk assessment and confidentiality).
  • Experience of working with a range of parent and children stakeholders including parents.
  • Good understanding of children and young people mental health requirements and support services.
  • Good assessment skills and ability to identify and understand risk.
