The Lead Commissioner – Family Wellbeing role is based in the Health, Wellbeing & Self-care (HWSC) team, part of People Strategy and Commissioning (PSC) at Warwickshire County Council. The role forms one of three Lead Commissioner roles reporting to the Strategy & Commissioning Manager for Health, Wellbeing & Self-care, and is responsible for the delivery of our commissioning plan for Family Wellbeing. PSC is a highly performing service, focused on ensuring quality health and care outcomes for the residents of Warwickshire. Key requirements
Our Lead Commissioner for Family Wellbeing is responsible for:
- The strategic commissioning of:
- Children’s public health services, including the 0-5 Public Health Nursing Service (Health Visiting, Family Nurse Partnership, Stop Smoking in Pregnancy) and the School Health & Wellbeing Contract (School Nursing).
- Children and Family Centres
- Early Help services, including the Solihull Approach, Parenting Framework, Grand-mentors, Empowering Parents programme
- Social Prescribing & Creative Arts Programmes
- Implementation of Warwickshire’s Tackling Social Inequalities Strategy, delivery of Local Maternity and Neonatal System priorities for Health and Wellbeing and strengthening the Social Prescribing offer across the County
- Driving system transformation and leading on and supporting areas of work relating to public health priorities, e.g. accident prevention, oral health, infant feeding
- Line management of the Family Wellbeing team, currently comprising 4 commissioners and 2 commissioning support officers
- Budget management for services and strategy implementation
- Matrix working particularly closely with our Public Health Unit, Children & Families Service, and our Education Service
- Working as part of the Lead Commissioner team across People Strategy & Commissioning to ensure effective integration, an all-age approach and alignment of work across the Service.
