We are looking for an enthusiastic Environmental Health Officer to join our Environmental Protection Team as a permanent, full time, member of the Environmental Health Service.

You must be registered with EHRB, or have an appropriate CIEH EHP registration. Ideally you will have experience of working within the field of environmental health and have a relevant post graduate qualification, or be prepared to undertake such qualifications.

You will provide responses to consultations upon applications received from our planning and licensing departments.

As part of a small team, our Environmental Health Officer posts may have the opportunity to work within any area of the Environmental Health Service.

As a member of a small, committed and hard-working team, you will be involved in both proactive and reactive work across many of the specialist disciplines that lie within the team’s remit.

You will be organised, diligent and flexible, will have good communication skills and be able to work on your own initiative. You will have an eye for detail and be comfortable working under pressure. You will be expected to work with, and develop good working relationships with, a range of partner organisations and undertake out of hours visits as necessary.

For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Mr Rob Thomas – acting Manager of Environmental Protection on 01782 742582.
