The Role

Due to the retirement of our Head, we are seeking a new appointment from the beginning of the Summer Term 2022, for an inspirational and progressive Head Teacher who will build on the progress the school has made and continue our journey towards excellence. The role would suit a Deputy Head Teacher looking for their next career step or a current Head Teacher looking for a new challenge.

Binley Woods is a very popular one form entry school situated at the heart of its local community. We are an inclusive school where all staff are committed and passionate to inspire and motivate each individual child whilst also placing a great importance on developing their well-being and self-esteem. We value the partnership that exists between parents, children, staff, governors and the wider community and strongly believe that by us all working together we ensure the children at our school experience the best possible start in life.

We have extensive grounds including a forest school area and woodlands that are adjacent which are used regularly to support the varied curriculum we provide. We also have an integrated Early Years unit where we offer places from the age of 3 and whose good practice has been widely recognised. The school itself is situated on the outskirts of Coventry and therefore has excellent travel links to the wider region.

Key Requirements

We are seeking someone who:

•Has a clear educational vision, the ability to effectively communicate this and put into practice to continue to drive the school forward
•Is committed to the development of the whole child, ensuring the full potential of each child irrespective of background or ability is achieved and at the heart of all decisions made.
•Is an inspirational teacher who will model outstanding practice in teaching and learning as well as behaviour management to all staff
•Has senior leadership experience and completed or working towards their NPQH qualification
•Has an innovative approach and a basic knowledge towards school finances and budgets
•Is keen to understand the school’s position within the wider community and will continue the journey in building positive relationships with other schools, colleagues and local collaborative partnerships.
•Has previous experience in leading the practise of safeguarding.
•Is a skilful and forward-thinking leader that can lead the school forward but will implement and value a team approach to management
•Can inspire and motivate those around them whilst supporting and coaching staff with their own individual professional development.
In return we can offer:
•An opportunity to work with a dedicated, inspirational, and positive staff team who are keen to embrace new ideas whilst strengthening the quality of teaching, learning and wellbeing
•Pupils who are confident and enthusiastic to learn and recognised regularly by visitors for their good behaviour
•The opportunity to continue the development of our Forest School Initiative
•A fully supportive, proactive, and experienced governing body
•An inclusive and positive school environment including our approach to pupils with SEND
•Regular opportunities for professional development including CPD training
