UWMAT is a medium sized Multi Academy Trust, sponsored by the University of Wolverhampton with its central team based at Walsall Campus, near Junction 9 of the M6. In this newly created role, your base will be in Walsall although there will be a requirement to travel across the Trust estate.
Reporting to the Chief Financial and Operations Officer, you will be responsible for establishing a comprehensive Estates Central Service for the Trust which is now ready for the next phase of its development; growth. This exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an inspirational and experienced leader to provide expert direction as the Trust Estates & Facilities Manager. In this role you will play a key role in seeking out and implementing efficiency gains and financial savings whilst managing key Trust contracts. You will also ensure standards to comply with legal, statutory and other regulations through policies, guidelines and best practice. You will support the implementation of the Trust strategy for the Estates Management function to maximise performance within agreed budgets and timescales.
We are looking for someone who has extensive experience of Estates and/or Facilities management with a strong knowledge of best practice in this area. In addition to this you should have excellent communication/interpersonal skills, ability to prioritise workload and show initiative, as well as a flexible approach to work. Your ability to maintain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders including Headteachers, Directors and Contractors will be crucial in this role. With line management responsibility for the Estates & Facilities Business Partner and working closely with site staff across the Trust Estate (2 secondary and 10 primary academies) your leadership experience will be key in developing their skills and knowledge. Experience of working in schools/or a multi academy trust is not essential for this role.
