Birches Head Academy has recently become part of the Frank Field Education Trust and we work collaboratively with others in our FFET family, allowing our students and staff many opportunities to develop. This is embodied in the FFET vision: ‘Social Justice through Excellence in Education’ and in the Academy motto: ‘Aspire to be More’.

Birches Head Academy is looking to appoint a part time Inclusion Support Officer to join our dedicated staff, providing administrative/clerical support to the school, with specific assistance to the Vice Principal: Pastoral (Designated Safeguarding Lead), Inclusion Manager and the Special Needs Co-ordinator.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of safeguarding children procedures and have experience of working within a busy office environment, whilst remaining calm under pressure.

Experience of working in a school environment with 11-16 aged students and knowledge of school-based systems (e.g. SIMS, ParentPay, ClassCharts etc.) would be an advantage, but is not essential, as training will be provided.

You should possess the ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues and parents / carers. You must be computer literate, organised and have at least five GCSEs, including Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent qualifications).

This post is demanding, requires a high degree of confidentiality and flexibility, and will prove both interesting and rewarding to the successful candidate.

All staff play a vital role in helping us to ensure our students receive a world-class education, thereby enabling each child to reach their full potential.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to demonstrate their ability to champion the Academy’s development and to be part of our exciting journey.

We welcome applications from all parts of our community as we aspire to have a staff body that matches the social and cultural diversity of our student intake.
