This is an exceptional opportunity for a friendly, highly organised person to join our dynamic and busy office team.  Previous school experience would be an advantage, but most of all you must be enthusiastic, positive, self- motivated and have the capacity for hard work and a desire to work along- side our skilled administrative team.

Attendance is a key priority in children’s education and ensuring children come to school every day is a key role in our school development.

The role of Attendance Officer will involve working closely with teachers, parents and, senior leadership and outside agencies to encourage excellent attendance, reduce levels of absence and work with children and families to promote high levels of attendance. You will also be obtaining explanations for unexplained student absences and registering children who are late to school.

You will monitor closely children who take leave of absence during term time and work in conjunction with our Education Welfare Officer. You will also register new children to the school from meeting with the parents to updating the internal database.

You will also be required to support the wider administration team by completing a wide variety of tasks, ranging from, answering the telephone to dealing with queries from parents. You will have a personable approach to students, staff and external stakeholders and a good telephone manner.

The ability to work effectively with students and their parents/carers is essential. Experience of working with SIMS would be advantageous although not essential as training will be provided. A good level of IT skills is also necessary.

Hours of work are 8.00 a.m. until 4.00 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8.00 a.m. until 3.30 p.m. on Friday. This post is term time only.

37 hours per week, term time only plus 5 inset days, permanent
