Job Details

Small in size but big in ambition Worcester City Council is looking for a qualified Tree Surgeon, to take up the role of Lead Climber to kick start and drive the work of our new up coming Tree Team.

You will be expected to carry out a wide range of traditional Arboricultural work across both private and public settings. Forestry work in ancient conservation woodlands, section felling trees in back gardens, designing and planting woodlands in green open spaces are but a few examples of the kind of work you will be undertaking with us.

We believe in ‘recruit for attitude and train for skill’ so although experience of 5 years is desirable for this role, we would welcome applications and interest from those with less experience, particularly if you are keen to shape this role and actively contribute to the outstanding level of natural environment that Worcester City has to offer.

Key requirements

  • An energetic and enthusiastic personality and an ability to instruct and encourage teammates.
  • A high standard of safety on site and work quality.
  • NPTC qualifications cs30 cs31 cs32 cs38 cs39.
  • An understanding of tree mechanics, species characteristics and tree disease and their effects.
  • Experience of working with members of the public.
