In this Senior HR & OD Advisor role, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to senior managers in our Children and Families Directorate; helping them to improve service performance and to embed our values and behaviours. You’ll play a key role in supporting delivery of the Children’s Services Improvement Plan so you’ll need to be motivated to consistently produce quality work at pace. On a day-to-day basis, this will see you offering expert guidance on matters related to workforce development, recruitment and retention, employee engagement and wellbeing. You’ll also advise on a full range of employee relations issues, including complex cases. You’ll deliver OD interventions too - providing training, facilitating focus groups, running 1:1 coaching and driving people related change and transformation.

From collaborating with trade union representatives to supporting managers and staff internally, your persuasion and influencing skills are going to be put to excellent use. You will have experience of and understand children’s social work, ideally within local government. You should also be familiar with delivering OD initiatives, assisting services to transform and drive performance through people and improve services following external inspections.
