LEVEL 2/3 TEACHING ASSISTANT – SPECIALIST SEND (1-1 & SEN GROUPS/NURTURE) – TV50221

FIXED TERM CONTRACT (dependant on funding for SEN pupils being available)

30 HOURS PER WEEK (TERM-TIME ONLY)

Grade 4/5 Level 6-17 (£20,092-£25,481 pro-rata)

Required as soon as possible – 30 hours per week term time only, Monday – Friday 8.30am-3.00pm, with a 30 minute lunch.

A specialist role exists within our school nurture provision. This is to support children from EYFS to Y6 who have varying degrees of Special Educational Needs, who mainly receive an EHCP, including complex learning, behaviour needs (Autism) and social/emotional needs, pupils who are non-verbal.

The role may include supporting with personal care, working 1-1, in small groups and/or supporting in classes. You will need to have a nurturing ethos and be able to be understand the values of nurture provision within a primary school.

They will also be expected to help support the class teacher with general lesson support for small groups and individuals. First aid and supervision at break times may also be required at certain times of the day as part of general teaching assistant duties. All training will be provided to the successful candidate, including health and safety and safeguarding as part of induction.

The successful applicant will ideally have previous experience working with children with SEN and in particular Autism, with knowledge of supporting pupils who are non-verbal.
