As part of the vision for relighting our city, we have developed a bold, new five-year ‘Event City’ plan aimed at delivering two million visitors and £68 million in local economic benefit and by capitalising on the opportunities for our city from the 2022 Commonwealth Games and other major events coming to the City of Wolverhampton.
We will deliver a vibrant programme of events with audiences ranging from 8 – 80,000, including comedy and live concerts, religious festivals, televised events, major sporting events and large outdoor events across many locations in the city.
The successful candidate will project manage and coordinate a programme of events and activities across the City as directed by the City Events Manager and duty manage events as and when required.
As part of a team, you will also manage event bookings, particularly for parks and open spaces events bookings, liaising with hirers to ensure that their events are well supported, taking part in the council’s SAG (Safety Advisory Group) processes and making site visits to parks events to ensure hirers comply with the requirements of the SAG.
The successful candidate will be educated to a degree standard with experience of using Microsoft Office packages.
The successful candidate will have experience of planning and delivering large scale events, the SAG process and of risk assessing for events.
Due to the nature of the post there will be a requirement to work outside of normal office hours in order to deliver our exciting programme of events across the calendar year.
