Looked After Children Education and Transition Co-ordinator (Stafford and South Staffordshire)

Salary:  £36,876- £40.760 per annum (pro rata)

37 Hours per week –Fixed Term starting February 2022 to cover maternity leave.

Staffordshire Virtual School for Looked After Children is responsible for promoting and driving the educational attainment and outcomes of children who are looked after or previously looked after from 0 – 25 years.

About the role

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, innovative and enthusiastic person with knowledge of the education and care systems, and how they impact on children's education to co-ordinate the education of children in care in the Stafford and South Staffordshire area to cover maternity leave.

The successful candidate will be contributing to raising the standards of educational attainment, achievement and attendance of Looked After children.

What you’ll bring

You will need to be passionate about improving educational outcomes for young people in care, with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and have experience of working with both teaching and social care professionals.

Recent experience of working with schools in a support and challenge role would be desirable as well as an understanding of strategies to promote attainment and progress of disadvantaged groups and an understanding support for children with special educational needs.
