Job Details

Our Housing Support Team provides a range of support and information services to the residents of Dudley Borough. We are a forward-thinking team and always looking for ways to improve and add to our extensive and successful services.
We have been running pre-tenancy workshops since 2015 and are pleased that we can now appoint a permanent officer dedicated to the work around pre-tenancy.

Hours: 35 per week

Location: Harbour Buildings, Waterfront West, Brierley Hill, DY5 1LN

We are looking for someone who is passionate about preparing Dudley Councils housing applicants for the responsibilities of taking on and managing their own tenancy.

Workshops are delivered to groups of people either at venues in person, or via MS Teams and we are keen to develop the service even further. This is a fantastic opportunity for people to be innovative and creative and we welcome any new ideas.

As our workshops are delivered to a range of people with different ages, experiences, and backgrounds you will need to be able to confidently manage this, and keep the attendees engaged with the sessions, as well as being friendly and welcoming whilst remaining assertive.

You will be responsible for many varied tasks including but not limited to, recruiting and managing volunteers to help run the workshops from other areas of the business, writing and delivering training for volunteers, managing attendance, keeping the workshops relevant and up to date with changes, measuring performance, able to identify safeguarding concerns and report on them and create or develop literature or other aids that can benefit tenants.

Pre tenancy is now well established within the team but as this is a new post it offers someone with flair and passion to be creative and develop this into new areas.
