GBSLEP are looking to take a lead on providing high quality sustainability support services for businesses in the GBSLEP region in order to reduce emissions in line with national, regional and partner carbon reduction targets, whilst reducing business costs, making them more competitive and creating a growth in low carbon jobs.

The Opportunity: We are looking for an experienced and certified ‘Non-domestic Energy Assessor’ to enable GBSLEP take a lead on providing high quality sustainability services and decarbonisation plans for businesses. Applicants must be professional and driven individuals to help make our Clean Growth Programme a success.

The candidate will be capable of working with businesses across the GBSLEP region to deliver high-quality outputs that will inform how emissions reductions can be achieved across their premises to support the achievement of our regional and national Net Zero carbon targets.

The Energy Assessors will help small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to decarbonise their buildings by carrying out on-site energy surveys of the building and producing Simplified Building Energy Models (SBEM). The assessors will investigate the potential energy-efficiency improvements and zero carbon energy technologies that can be installed at the premises to reduce energy consumption, carbon emissions and costs. The final output of the Energy Assessors work will be a ‘Decarbonisation Plan’ summarising the work and defining key interventions that could be made.

The Candidate:

It will be essential that candidates have appropriate qualifications to undertake non-domestic energy assessments, with a proven track record undertaking assessments on behalf of clients.

Candidates will be asked to demonstrate their knowledge of the options and solutions available to businesses in reducing their energy consumption and carbon emissions.

The successful candidate will have the ability to represent GBSLEP by attending client and prospective client meetings, discussing the Clean Growth Programme services and timescales for delivery.

Will need to be able to produce high-quality Decarbonisation reports that can be used by businesses to inform future investment decisions.

Demonstrate that they can support GBSLEP Clean Growth project outcomes by helping create professional work and supporting the monitoring and reporting processes in a timely manner.
