Job Details

GBSLEP are looking to take a lead on providing high quality sustainability support services for businesses in the GBSLEP region in order to reduce emissions in line with national, regional and partner carbon reduction targets, whilst reducing business costs, making them more competitive and creating a growth in low carbon jobs.

The Opportunity: The role will be to enable and facilitate Clean Growth in SMEs by developing and pleading the GBSLEP Sustainability Hub. The Sustainability Hub Manager will work closely with the other GBSLEP Hub teams to help the Greater Birmingham and Solihull area deliver its vision of clean and inclusive growth across the region, empowering SMEs to evaluate their low carbon status and identify the skills required to plan and implement clean business practices and behaviours.

This will be achieved initially by delivering on the objectives of the Clean Growth Programme, a process of decarbonising business buildings by building on the progress already made in this area and developing the team and processes to achieve this. The Sustainability Hub Manager will also be responsible for developing other sustainability services for businesses in line with GBSLEP’s mission statement, regional partners goals and the Industrial Strategy.

The Candidate: Will have the ability to support the implementation of the GBSLEP Annual Delivery Plan and work with partner LEPs and the West Midlands Combined Authority to deliver the wider regional economic strategy.

To manage the development and operation of the Sustainability Hub which will deliver on the objectives of the Clean Growth Programme.

Be capable of developing a range of additional business sustainability services, potentially including, but not limited to, Environmental Management Systems, Circular Economy and Negative Emissions services.

Can demonstrate that they are able to motivate, manage and direct the Clean Growth Programme team to have a demonstrable impact on client businesses by addressing their barriers to clean growth.
