Casual Caretakers - Ref: RT12821
Salary: G5 £10.83 per hour

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Caretakers on a casual basis, who will support us in the care, maintenance and functionality of our schools, council offices and buildings. Join our hard working team of professionals and support us in looking after our premises across the Walsall Borough. 

The ideal candidate will take pride in the work they do and enjoy working in a busy environment where the working routine can be interesting and varied. They must be able to work well under pressure, and meet the required standards needed for this important and rewarding role.

It is essential that you have previous Caretaking or Premise management experience, alongside locking and unlocking of premises and Health and Safety awareness. You may be required to undertake cleaning duties including mopping, polishing and vacuuming and some experience in this type of work is advantageous.

Training and uniform will be provided to the successful candidate.

As part of this role, you must be willing and able to travel in order to cover premises across the borough when required.

Please note: The casual caretaker position is of a non- contractual basis and work will be allocated on an as and when needed basis to cover annual leave, sick leave and holiday deep cleaning, additional opening /closing of premises. Therefore, hours are not guaranteed.

This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.  The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
