The Castle Phoenix Trust is looking for a Trust Director of People based in Coventry. The role is intended to be part of the MAT’s Executive Management Team (EMT), leading the developing central-services HR function and will evolve with the Trust, which is in its 8th year, having been established in February 2013.

The Trust’s strategic objectives focus on providing the best possible school experience for its pupils and staff, aiming to provide good education and be the best employer possible.

About the Role

You will be responsible for leading, coaching, and overseeing the entire People team. As Director of People, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive HR/ People service for over 650 staff within the Castle Phoenix Multi-Academy Trust, focusing on maximising the value and talent of our employees. Together with senior leaders and our People Team, you will develop and drive forward our people strategy across the trust. You will be providing strategic direction for the Trust’s HR Central Service in particular, and contributing more widely to the Trust as a whole as part of the EMT who proactively create new systems to improve ways of working and growing professionally.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an effective communicator with highly developed interpersonal skills who wants to be part of a team who continuously strives to be better. You will be expected to establish professional working relationships with our Trust Leadership Team, relevant external support providers, EMT, teachers and support staff, the Finance Team, all personnel in individual schools and other Trust Central teams

You should have: A relevant HR qualification, e.g. CIPD (level 7) and/or significant current experience at high level. A high standard of education, literacy and numeracy (minimum equivalence of GCSE C/5 English and Maths).
