Student Mentor & TA: Key Stage 4

Grade 4, Spinal Point 5,

£16,955.93 per annum (32.5 Hours) from January 2022, Term Time Only. Pending pay review.

Fixed Term Contract Until 31st December 2022

Codsall Community High School are looking to appoint to the position of ‘Student Mentor and Teaching Assistant’, that combines mentoring students in Years 9, 10 and 11 and providing support to promote good behaviour, attendance and high achievement. 

In the role you will:

  • Provide mentoring to secure good behaviour and attendance for all.
  • Provide additional mentoring for disadvantaged students, those who join the school after the start of Year 9 and those in need of additional support.
  • Supervise small groups of students receiving online tuition through the National Tutor Programme (NTP).
  • Counsel students who need emotional support to reintegrate back into lessons. 
  • Run intervention sessions during the school day and a homework club after school to help students who have fallen behind to catch-up.
  • Provide support to teachers with the care of and management of pupils the classroom.
