Job Details

Bromsgrove and Redditch Starting Well Service provide support for families which include hosting a variety of groups for parents/carers with children 0-19 to help bring out the best in their children.

The following posts will provide an excellent and exciting opportunity to join a team in developing services that will make a real difference to the lives of children, young people and their families. 

Parent Support Worker - One vacancy, 22.5 hour per week, Grade 5 (SCP 14 – 19), £23,080 - £25,481, pro rata per length of contract, Fixed Term Contract (1 year)

Parent Support Worker – One vacancy, 30 hour per week, Grade 5 (SCP 14 – 19), £23,080 - £25,481 pro rata per annum, Permanent Contract

The Post holder will deliver a menu of evidenced based Community Parenting Programmes, providing positive parenting support services and groups offering parenting advice and support including drop-in facilities, and group sessions, with a focus on supporting vulnerable families and enabling school readiness.

They will work assertively with families and by working in a child and young person centred approach, actively seek to empower families to gain and maintain control over all aspects of their lives.

The post holder needs significant experience of facilitation and delivery of evidence based parenting programmes and young people’s groups and experience of  working with families, including children and young people and creatively engaging parents and families into services. You will need a NVQ 3 in health, social care, childcare or youth work and undergone training in delivering evidence based Parenting Programmes.
