We are looking to appoint a Reading Recovery Teacher as part of our friendly and hardworking team.  As part of our energetic and dedicated team, you will inspire and motivate pupils to strive for success whilst promoting our school values and ethos.

The key elements of this new role would be to use school tracking and assessment procedures to identify children in need of the support of the Reading Recovery (RR) programme, through the use of surveys build a profile of knowledge and skills of children to inform teaching and to provide individualised teaching to identified children.

Ideally the successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified teacher Status
  • Understanding and knowledge of the Reading Recovery programme
  • Experience in planning, teaching and evaluating the success of intervention programmes
  • Experience of working with children across the primary age range
  • Have a detailed knowledge of the curriculum and its means of delivery across the primary range
  • Knowledge and understanding of child development.
  • A desire to further develop their skills.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
  • An approachable and resilient attitude
  • A passion for supporting children to be the best they can be.
  • Motivation to work with children and young people;
  • Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people;
  • Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours; and
  • Attitudes to use of authority and maintaining discipline.
