Site Maintenance Operative

Wolverley CE Secondary School is an extremely successful and growing school on the outskirts of Kidderminster. The school is seeking to appoint a reliable, enthusiastic, trustworthy and organised individual to join our skilled site maintenance team to support its growth into the management of other local school sites. A role with the site maintenance team is an extremely rewarding, challenging and secure job that offers individuals the chance to enhance their skills and offers potential for further career development for the right candidate. The successful candidate will be able to work on their own initiative to complete a broad range of maintenance tasks necessary for the effective and efficient operation of the school premises. The role will involve undertaking general maintenance, repairs, and internal decoration, with occasional grounds maintenance also included in these duties.
Proven experience in completing maintenance and decoration tasks is required, together with a basic understanding of health and safety procedures. Experience of working in a school or similar environment is desirable but not essential. A qualification in a trade such as building, plumbing, carpentry or electrics is desirable and would be extremely beneficial in this role.
Excellent communication skills are also necessary to relate well with pupils, staff and other adults.
This position is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
The role is rota based, with some early morning and later evening work required. Further information on patterns of work is available on request. The role will be based at Wolverley CE Secondary School, with some work taking place at two local primary schools, it is therefore essential that the successful candidate can drive.
In addition, there may some evening work associated with school events and lettings that will be paid as overtime and organised on rotation.
